He received his B.S. and M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Yonsei University, Korea, in 1984 and 1986.

He received his Ph.D. degree in Information Storage Engineering from Yonsei University, Korea, in 2004.

He is currently an assistant professor in Mechanical Design Engineering at Korea University of Technology and Education.
