Abstract This analytical study aims to investigate the penetration depth of reinforced concrete panels according to collision conditions of the high-velocity projectile and reinforcing bars in the reinforced concrete panel. The reinforced concrete model constructed for nonlinear analysis was designed with dimensions of 600×600×200 mm, while the spacing of the reinforcing bars was set to 40, 50, and 100 mm. A non-reinforced concrete panel was also analyzed as a reference. The penetration depth of the unreinforced and reinforced concrete panels with 50 mm and 100 mm spacing was 35 mm, but the penetration depth of the reinforced concrete panel with spacing of 40 mm was 45 mm. Results showed that the presence of reinforcing bars does not significantly affect the penetration depth of reinforced concrete panels. Rather, it has been determined that deeper penetration depth can occur when off-center collision between the projectile and the reinforcement occurs.
