Abstract |
This study evaluated the seismic performance of precast concrete (PC) ductile beam?column connections incorporating steel fiber-reinforced concrete (SFRC). Three full-scale beam-column joint specimens were fabricated and tested: a cast-in-place RC specimen, a PC control specimen, and a 2 % SFRC specimen with 50 % reduced transverse reinforcement. The 2 % SFRC specimen demonstrated superior performance, exhibiting a higher peak load, greater initial stiffness, and improved displacement ductility ratios (2.92-3.34) relative to the control specimens. Steel fibers effectively suppressed joint cracking and concrete spalling throughout cyclic loading. All specimens satisfied the ACI 374.1 acceptance criteria, confirming that 2 % SFRC can replace conventional transverse reinforcement while maintaining seismic performance.
