Abstract Tensile strength test, compressive strength test, and shear strength test were conducted to confirm the mechanical properties of a prototype carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) rebar. As a results of the tensile strength test, the tensile strength of ACI 440.1R was satisfied. The compressive strength was confirmed to be 307 MPa, and the shear strength was 475 MPa. In addition, as a result of comparing the relationship between the tensile strength and the shear strength of the CFRP rebar, it was confirmed that the coefficient was slightly higher than in a previous study.
