Abstract This research aimed to develop an environment-friendly and durable repair mortar. Three types of mixtures were used as follows: first, concerning binder, OPC (OPC only); second, AAM300-0 (GGBS only); third, AAM300-1, which is composed of 70 % GGBS and 30 % cement with the addition of alkali activator. However, AAM300-0 was removed from the durability test early on because its adhesive strength did not meet the repair mortar standard (KS F 4042). To confirm physical characteristics an durability, various tests were conducted including XRD, heat resistance, and chloride penetration resistance analyses. Also, various types of acids were used with the mixtures to determine the acid resistance. The test results show that the newly developed AAM300- has higher heat resistance and chloride penetration resistance than those of conventional repair mortar (OPC). Especially, acid resistance was noticeably higher than that of OPC. However, initial compressive strength and adhesive strength were lower than those of OPC.
