Abstract The purpose of this research is to examine whether double walls can be designed as intermediate PC walls. A total of six specimens was classified based on the aspect ratio. LA-type Specimens with a high aspect ratio of 1.94 were planned to fail at flexure and SB-type specimens with a low aspect ratio of 0.67 were planned to fail at shear. LA-types consist of four specimens in order to evaluate the effects of reinforcement ratios of horizontal joint and axial force and also to compare with a cast-in-place wall. SB-types consist of two specimens to evaluate the effect of vertical joint. Test results were examined to find that double walls can satisfy the requirements of design standards of KDS and ACI 318, the requirement of ASCE/SEI 7-16 as a seismic resisting system, and the target-performance requirements of ASCE/SEI 41-13. From the examination, it is recognized that double walls showed equal and above performance compared to cast-in-place walls. Finally it is concluded that double walls can be classified as intermediate precast structural walls.
