Title Shrinkage Study of Concrete Considering Kinds of Coarse Aggregates

Abstract As a result of decreasing the amount of natural aggregate in recent years, various types of aggregates are being used in concrete, and securing quality of each aggregate becomes a crucial factor in maintaining the performance of concrete. In this study, the effects of the type of the coarse aggregate were examined for shrinkage of concrete. As a result of the effects of pore measurements, the existence of discontinuous pores is confirmed as a result of the impound of the materials in blast furnace slag and the artificial light weight aggregate, Natural aggregates such as graywacke and limestone did not identify the existence of discontinuous pores. Also, artificial aggregates with discontinuous pore clearance had small variations in autogenous shrinkage. However, the autogenous shrinkage of the concrete with a natural aggregate was roughly similar to that of the measurement period, but a significant difference was made during the pore amount under the 40 nm diameter. Meanwhile, pore amount under the 40 nm diameter was affected by the drying shrinkage of concrete.
