Abstract In the case of the outer cross section of the dry bottom ash, it is formed as a porous structure of open cell. Also, it is lightweight, high in water absorption, strong in hardness, and excellent in physical properties, and thus is very suitable as a pitching aggregate. Therefore, it is considered that dry bottom ash can be used as soil filler and road aggregate. The purpose of this study is to analyze the physical and chemical properties of bottom ash produced by dry method and to calculate the geotechnical properties and optimum mixing ratio for the use of aggregate in mixing with high quality soils. As a result, the bottom ash did not exceed the 1 local standard value in the soil pollution standards. And no statistically significant difference was observed when comparing the concentrations of the soil samples collected from the study. In addition, as a result of physical properties of bottom ash as a aggregate for embankment, it is considered that it is difficult to secure the compaction property by bottom ash itself. In other words, it can be applied by mixing with aggregate mixed with clay and silt mixed soil or cement in high quality soil for application to this application.
