Abstract An increasing number of accidents occur globally accompanied by impacts and blasts, and the probability of such accidents is rising internationally. These impacts and blasts are inevitably accompanied by an increasing number of fire accidents. Big cities with densely populated residential areas are exposed to serious damage caused by impacts or blasts. In this study, to improve impact and blast resistance of structures, a slurry infiltrated fiber reinforced cementitious composite (SIFRCC) is developed. Also, an experimental study on the flexural characteristics was conducted with respect to high exposure temperature. It was found that flexural strength decreased as exposure temperature increased due to loss of water and strength of the slurry matrix. On the other hand, for specimen toughness, the energy absorbing capacity improved at a certain level of exposure temperature due to reduction of bond performance at the fiber and slurry matrix interface.
