Abstract In this study, three reinforced concrete beam were tested to evaluate the shear performance of the reinforced concrete beam with integrated shear reinforcement. Therefore, the shear strength and the applicability of the integrated shear reinforcement were evaluated through the experimental results. For this purpose, shear reinforcement (non-reinforced, N-type rebar, steel plate) were determined as the main variables. In order to induce the shear failure, the shear span ratio was set to 2.95, and the 4 point force test was performed. According to the test results. Shear strength of N type shear reinforcement increased 1.64 times and 1.6 times for steel plate reinforced specimen. The shear strength of the beams reinforced with integrated shear reinforcement was higher than the design shear strength. N-type rebar did not exceed the design strength. In order to analyze this phenomenon, because the N-Type rebar was not fixed, a sufficient number of shear reinforcement did not yield. On the other hand, in case of the specimen reinforced with steel plate, a sufficient number of steel plate yielded. Therefore, it is considered that the shear reinforcement using steel plate could be designed by applying the code provision.
