Abstract RRcently, various types of void slabs have been proposed as a method to decrease the self-weight of thick slabs. If a void slab is made with a Truss Deck prefabricated with welded wire trusses and a deck plate, it would not only reduce the self-weight of the structure but also afford many advantages such as improved workability and reduced construction duration. However, because of asymmetric void spheres and the truss that should deliver the forces in one direction, it is expected that the one-way shear performance will be significantly different biaxially. In this study, the one-way shear performance for each void slab is evaluated through an experimental program. As a result, it has been found that all of the wire truss slabs behave not composited with the concrete in the middle of the slab, and the direction of the asymmetric void sphere and the wire truss affect the one-way shear performance in a different manner.
